Chinese network

Welcome to the Chinese Network

This site is for teachers of Mandarin Chinese and their students. The Chinese Network exists to provide a 'virtual staffroom' for Mandarin teachers and to encourage the exchange of ideas, expertise and news, as well as materials and resources.

We have seconded five national network coordinators to work with us to support those schools currently teaching or looking to introduce Mandarin Chinese and China studies across the curriculum. The team is available to help with any queries you might have about teaching or introducing Mandarin and/or China studies into your school.

To contact any of them or me, please email chinesenetworks@ssatrust.org.uk.

Find out more about the team.

We welcome your contributions to the network and hope it provides a focus to bring together the community of practice. As the site develops, we aim to provide access to a wealth of information about Chinese language teaching and learning, together with a better understanding of Chinese culture.

However, it is very much your site and I am reliant on everyone's contribution of ideas, materials and suggestions. We look forward to hearing from you.

Discussion forum

The Mandarin Chinese special interest group has an email discussion forum, Mandarin-Chinese-Teaching. This is an open forum for teachers of Mandarin Chinese in all sectors and membership is growing fast. The forum will also be used to discuss and develop the Chinese Network and to collect ideas and information. This forum is maintained by The Association for Language Learning (ALL).
