Introduction

The Family of Schools works within the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust to give practical support to the transformation of primary education by building and enabling a world-class network of innovative, high performing schools in partnership with secondary and special schools. The Family of Schools programme aims to develop networking opportunities locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, allowing primary schools to share ideas, and good, or next practice.

The Family of Schools blog is a benefit of affiliation to the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, and as an affiliate to SSAT, your school can access this fantastic online support tool. It is a regularly updated collection of short pieces about issues related to learning and teaching.

Case studies

Over the past year through our lead practitioners we have developed and delivered three different fun packed enterprise programmes to year five and six local primary school pupils.

A cluster of schools in Monmouth worked together to develop a consistent behaviour policy across all phases. This led to huge improvements in behaviour at all ages.
103 schools from a diverse range of social, cultural and regional backgrounds were provided with ‘kick start’ funding to develop and deepen current practice, or engage with creative and innovative approaches to parental engagement.
