These terms and conditions govern your use of the following websites:

If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not register for, purchase from, or use the above websites. The websites are provided to you free of charge for your personal use subject to the terms and conditions. By using the websites of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (‘SSAT’, ‘we’ or ‘us’) you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust is registered in England, company register number 02124695 (VAT number 628225639) registered office Bucklersbury House, 83 Cannon Street, London, EC4N 8PE. Charity number 296729.

The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust has a number of sites including the SSAT's corporate website, iNet (international branch), schools network, ICT (Information Communication and Technology) Register, and the joint English-French project. All these websites and services are governed by these terms and conditions.

Please note that Teachnet website is jointly operated with Citigroup and the Dance network website is jointly operated with the Youth Sports Trust and are subject to Terms and Conditions available on the www.teachnet-uk.org.uk website and the www.dancenetwork.org.uk website.

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

We suggest you read our privacy policy as they also form part of our terms and conditions.

Copyright

The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust wishes to promote educational innovation and good practice wherever possible. Hence, unless otherwise stated, all materials other than SSAT or third party logos or trade marks on this site may be copied for non-commercial educational purposes provided that all copyright and other intellectual property notices are retained, that the materials are not modified and that the source is acknowledged on every occasion.

You do not need to request permission to create a text link from your site to any of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust's web pages for non-commercial educational purposes. However, we would ask you where ever possible to notify us of such linking and not to frame our pages within your own portal navigation, as this approach can prove confusing for the end user. Please do not incorporate our logo into your pages, as this may confuse the viewer as the source of your material. You have no right to use any SSAT materials (including intellectual property rights) except expressly granted by us.

Schools affiliated to the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust are authorised to use the various Specialist Schools and Academies Trust logos. Schools that are a recognised specialist school are authorised to use the specialist schools logos and those schools are registed on the ICT Register are authorised to use the ICT logos. When using logos you must follow the appropriate style guides. To download logos, visit www.schoolsnetwork.org.uk and select 'Resources and logos' from the left hand menu. Intellectual property / trademarks

The content of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust's websites is protected by copyright, trade marks and other intellectual property rights. All these rights in the material contained in these websites belong to the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.

Our acceptance of an order takes place on dispatch of the order, at which point the purchase contract will be made and you will be charged for your order.

You understand that you, and not our websites, are responsible for all electronic communications and content sent from your computer to us and you must use the website for lawful purposes only.

Website security

The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust has in place and maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your information and our websites. We arrange for our network traffic to be monitored, to investigate or detect unauthorised users and attacks on the websites. We have taken precautions to minimise the risk of transmitting software viruses, but we strongly advise that you carry out your own virus checks on downloadable files available on the site. We cannot accept liability for any loss or damage caused by software viruses that may have been encountered during use of this site, or any related site.

When registering to the site you must be aware that the information you submit will be insecure and could be observed by a third party while in transit. Do not submit information you would like to keep private.

 

Applicable law

This agreement is deemed to be made in England and is subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. Any disputes that arise will be decided only by the English courts.

 

International use

The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust makes no promises that materials on its websites are appropriate or available for use in locations outside the United Kingdom, and accessing the websites from territories where its content are illegal or unlawful is prohibited. If you choose to access this site from locations outside the United Kingdom, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws. The exception is the iNet website, which is our international resource.

 

Matters beyond our control

Neither party is liable for any breach of this agreement that is caused by a matter beyond its reasonal control, including acts of God, fire, lightning, explosion, war, flood, industrial disputes, sabotage, extremely severe weather or act of local or central government or other competent authorities.

We may change our privacy statement from time to time. If it does change in anyway, then we will replace this page with the new version. You may wish to review this page to ensure you are up to date with what personal information we collect and why.

We reserve the right to refuse access to the website, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders at our discretion. If we cancel an order, it will be without charge to you.

 

Chat rooms / discussion forum rules

We offer our subscribers access to the chat rooms / discussion forums. The chat rooms / discussion forums are a place where subscribers can post and read messages. There is no extra charge for using the chat rooms / discussion forums. You may use the chat rooms / discussion forums to ask questions on educational issues and get answers from other subscribers. Subject to the following restrictions, you will be free to post messages about issues of interest and/or concern.

If you choose to post a message you may disclose personal data about yourself to other subscribers in the discussion (who may be outside the European Economic Area), but you must not, through using the chat rooms / discussion forums, collect, store, or otherwise process personal data about other subscribers to our websites. We reserve the right to remove any message posted on the chat rooms / discussion forums.

If, while using our chat rooms / discussion forums, you discover anyone in breach any of clauses, you shall inform us straight away.

The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust shall not have any liability to you in respect of any messages posted by other subscribers to our websites.

 

Your obligations

You must comply with any laws local to you wherever you are physically present when you access the chat rooms / discussion forums or post or read a message.

You must treat everything you read or post as private and confidential to the chat rooms / discussion forums and other subscribers to our websites.

You are responsible for ensuring that any message that you post on the chat rooms / discussion forums is free from any error.

 

Prohibitions

You must not publish, post, distribute, disseminate, or otherwise transmit anything that: offends common standards of courtesy or decency; is reasonably likely to breach technology export restrictions or financial services laws or to be invasive of privacy; is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, blasphemous, seditious, objectionable; or is unlawful, offensive, or regarded as such for racial, ethnic, or sexual reasons.

Advertising, chain messages, spam, and press releases are prohibited on the chat rooms / discussion forums. You must not use the chat rooms / discussion forums to infringe the rights of any third party, including, but not limited to, any patent or trade mark or trade secret, or to break any copyright restrictions on anything said or repeated on the chat rooms / discussion forums.

You must not use the chat rooms / discussion forums to: access and/or use confidential information; attempt to discover and/or use the password and account details of another subscriber; or attempt to impersonate any other person.

 

Name

You confirm that you are the owner of, or that you have been authorised by the owner to use, any trade mark or name requested by or allocated to you.

We cannot guarantee that any name requested by you will be available or approved for use.

If we have reasonable grounds for thinking that the name you have chosen is in breach of clause 13.1 above, we may ask you to choose a replacement name.

 

Duration of service

Your use of our websites shall continue until terminated by either you or us, giving at least seven days' notice to the other. Any notice of cancellation you send us takes effect on the last day of the month it is received by us.

 

Assignment

You shall not assign or otherwise transfer this agreement to any other person without obtaining our prior written consent. We reserve the right to assign all or part of this agreement at any time to any company or person.

 

e-shop ordering

If for any reason a customer is unhappy with their purchase, they can return it to us in original condition within 30 days of receipt and we will issue a full refund.

Refunds will be made in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within three weeks of receiving the return.

If a customer receives an item that is incorrect, damaged, damaged or defective, we will reimburse costs incurred by returning it to us and offer a refund or exchange.

We will check all items returned as damaged or defective. In the event we find no fault, we reserve the right to re-charge for the item(s) and to recover our fees and expenses.

By law, customers located within the European Union also have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days (known as ‘cooling off’ period) of delivery.

This will not affect a customer’s statutory rights.

 

Events bookings

Cancellations made more than 8 weeks before the event incur a 50% cancellation charge.
Cancellations made less than 8 weeks before the event incur 100% of the event charge.

Where an event is free of charge, cancellation charges for any hotel accommodation associated with the event, may be incurred in accordance with the general cancellation policy.

All cancellations must be made in writing.

Replacement delegates may be nominated in writing at any time prior to the start of the event.

If, for any reason, the SSAT needs to cancel the event, delegates will be notified in writing and events fees will be fully refunded.
