This privacy policy covers information about identifiable individuals (‘personal data’) that is collected or held on the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust’s websites and on other internal databases.

Use of personal data
Any personal data you supply will be used by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (‘SSAT’, ‘we’ or ‘us’) for the following purposes:

  • To process and administer your membership and to fulfill our obligations to you as an affiliated or iNet member
  • To process and administer your participation in our networks for schools and programmes of work
  • To process and administer your booking for an event, conference, workshop or seminar
  • To send you information (including newsletters, publications and updates) on matters related to your iNet/affiliation membership and the programmes of work your school is involved in
  • To provide you with information and special offers from our sponsor partners
  • To provide you with online services such as access to password protected sections of the SSAT’s websites or for you to subscribe to our press release or newsletter service. Your details will also enable certain areas of the websites to be personalised to you
  • To provide you with online services such as toolkits, other online tutor/student resources and virtual learning environments for course work
  • To improve or enhance our websites. We are always looking at improving our websites to ensure they meet your needs and provide the information you need
  • To process financial transactions for purchases made using our websites
  • For staff administration and employment/assignment of work for consultants
  • To notify you of products, services and programmes offered by the SSAT; and Otherwise as reasonably required by the SSAT and its affiliates to operate their business or as required by law.

    Sharing your information
    The SSAT and its affiliated entities will use personal data relating to you. Such data may also be released to third parties (such as government entities, service suppliers, schools involved in the same programme of work or sponsors). We would never sell mailing lists or make available your personal information to other organisations unless stated above. Whilst the personal data is stored in the UK, we may transfer data to other countries worldwide including those without data protection laws. We transfer personal data to other countries firstly so that our subsidiaries and international consultants can undertake work on behalf of the UK office, secondly as part of our international work to build international networks between schools in different countries, including organising study tours and events and lastly to service suppliers who host our websites or online resources. You will be informed if your data is to be transferred overseas, but if you prefer not to have your personal data transferred to another country then please inform us or contact the Compliance Project Manager at the address below.     How do we collect information about you?

  • Directly from you: eg when subscribing to press releases, registering for an event or registering on the schools network website. When you first register onto a website we will request your email address.
  • From feedback forms: information is gathered from the websites by completion of enquiry and feedback forms, and by enquiries submitted to the Web and Interactive Media Manager.
  • From what you do on our websites: eg if you visit or register with the websites. As with most website operators, we collect information from visitors and registered users of our websites, to help us improve our websites and the information/services we offer to you.
