Excellent professional development opportunities exist through most of the SSAT’s work with its schools. However, a number of the Trust’s activities seek to provide more structured professional development which will have a definable impact at school or classroom level. These include leadership development, the use of new technologies and the exchange of good practice through international school visits.
Professional development may take place online, at one day courses or conferences or by extended part time programmes, some of which carry university accreditation. In addition the Trust supports the work of Advanced Skills Teachers (ASTs), encouraging the sharing of good practice and providing opportunities for ASTs to extend their impact across a wider network.
Whether your interest is at specialist subject or strategic whole school level, there will be something to suit your needs. Activities draw considerably on the expertise of successful practitioners in schools - throughout England and beyond – to ensure maximum relevance for the individual.
